Neuro-Acoustic Dynamics & Adaptation
Exploring how sound and vibration relate to health, recovery and human performance—on Earth and in the demanding environments of spaceflight.

01 / About iNAAD
Can precisely characterised acoustic and vibroacoustic interventions produce reproducible physiological or behavioural responses relevant to recovery, adaptation and human performance?
iNAAD brings together measurement, intervention research and technology development to investigate that question. Subjective experience, objective physiology and performance each contribute a different part of the picture.
The programme is in development. Terrestrial feasibility studies are the proposed starting point; operational spaceflight applications remain a longer-term research aim.
02 / Research programmes
A shared framework for measurement and evidence connects each programme. Open an area to see its projects and next steps.
Health, performance and adaptation through measurement, acoustic interventions, wearable sensing and translational neuroscience.
Explore the assessment frameworkDeveloping research questions across menopause, pregnancy and pelvic health, including pain, sleep, anxiety, function and wellbeing.
Explore women’s healthExploring how traditional approaches and contemporary clinical science can inform defined, measurable research questions.
Building an evidence framework for neuroacoustic mechanisms and scoping frequency-based sensing and intervention concepts.
03 / Human performance measures library
Explore measures of sleep, fatigue, cognition and other aspects of human performance. Browse by shelf or switch to the catalogue, then select a measure to read its profile and source notes.
Catalogue profiles are research information. Inclusion does not establish suitability for a particular study or spaceflight use. Questionnaire reproduction and release permissions vary by instrument.

04 / How we build evidence
Music listening, therapist-led music therapy, modulated tones, environmental sound and body-delivered vibration are distinct intervention classes. Each needs its own exposure specification, comparator, outcomes and appraisal.
Our developing framework keeps proposed mechanisms, human observations and translation questions visible. Evidence for one approach cannot automatically establish the effectiveness of another.
A bounded question and reproducible exposure.
Appropriate physiological, experiential and functional outcomes.
Terrestrial feasibility followed by controlled evaluation.
Replication and documented decisions before translation.
05 / Collaboration
We are developing a collaboration pathway across auditory neuroscience, autonomic and respiratory physiology, acoustics, measurement science, wearable engineering and research methods.
The immediate focus is a clearly specified terrestrial feasibility experiment with objective physiological and performance outcomes.
